Fellowship

Messiah Lutheran is an active church and offers the following fellowship opportunities:

  • The coffee pot is always brewing on Sunday mornings.  Come have a cuppa. During the summer, we offer breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30.  There’s always someone to greet!
  • Actioneers. Seniors (55+) meet at Messiah on the third Tuesday of every month to visit local sites of interest and share lunch. Contact Don and Judy Jensen at 253-631-9692, Bill and Carol Messecar at 253-638-9692, or the church office at 253-833-5280 to reserve a seat.  Upcoming events are detailed in the church bulletin and can also be found on the web page Events section.
  • Sunday Evening Dinner & Bible Study:  Several groups meet two Sundays each month for fellowship and study with a potluck dinner.  Studies vary between books and the Bible.
  • Monday Morning Women’s Group:  The Monday Morning Women’s Group meets twice a month from 10:00am to noon at one of the group leaders’ home for study and fellowship.  They also gather for a half day’s retreat once a year.
  • Tuesday Women’s Group:  The Tuesday Woman’s Group meets every other Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m.  Facilitators vary.  Discussion is centered on God’s word through book studies while sharing faith stories and praying for one another.
  • Wednesday Morning Women’s Study:  The Wednesday Morning Women’s Study meets twice a month 10am at Rio Verde Clubhouse. Anyone is welcome at any time. They are currently studying “See Through the Scriptures – an Overview of the Bible” by Harry Wendt.
  • Wednesday Evening Men’s Study:  The Wednesday Evening Men’s group meets each Wednesday at 7pm in the church youth room.  They rotate between topical studies and Bible studies.  Whatever the topic might be, they focus on growing their discipleship and helping each other to see where God is guiding them to go.
  • Saturday Morning Young Families Group: Young families of the church gather outside the nursery on the 4th Saturday of each month except November & December.  Childcare is available in the nursery, though parents are encouraged to keep children with them if they prefer.  Topics vary, but the main goal of the group is to provide a place where young families can get to know each other and offer support amid the craziness of raising kids!
  • Thursday 10am Bible Study:  Thursday morning Bible study features a large and lively group who love to dig into various Bible texts.  Come for a cup of coffee and a cookie, stay for a good conversation on a reading from scripture.
  • New Groups Are Always Forming!  Leadership support is available for small group leaders on a quarterly basis.
