New Regathering Timeline & Phases

Regathering at Messiah

On Thursday, March 10 Messiah’s Executive Team discussed the following as a tentative plan for proceeding with our regathering phases. The church council will be reviewing the plan this coming Thursday, March 17.

As the plan is tentative at this point, the church council is seeking feedback from the congregation. Messiah members and friends are encouraged to talk with church council members about the timing of these regathering phases. The email address info@mlcauburn.org can be used to contact council members. In addition, this timetable assumes continued, positive trends for Covid cases in King County.

  • Sunday, March 27 and beyond – masks become encouraged and optional throughout the building, not required
  • Sunday, April 3 and beyond – coffee and other beverage service returns to the building
  • Sunday, April 17 and beyond – food service returns to the building (look for an Easter breakfast!)
  • Sunday, April 24 and beyond – community suppers can seat in building; Wednesday Food Bank can set up in building

As a community of faith, Messiah leaders are striving to move forward with our regathering as quickly as possible, while maintaining good health and safety practices. Your leaders also recognize that for some persons this plan moves too slow, while for others it moves too quick. They also recognize that whether a person chooses to continue masking or not, everyone is welcome at Messiah, and we can be a community that supports one another as we make our individual decisions.

We now move into a phase of the pandemic where individual choices, rather than mandates, will be the primary guides for our behavior. Like we all practice during the cold and flu season, monitoring our own health, staying home when we are not feeling well, practicing good handwashing, and distancing when appropriate, are all behaviors we can utilize to keep each other safe and well.
